TWRA HUNTER EDUCATION CLASSES

Important Note: Version 3.0 of the Hunter Education CD used in the Tennessee Hunter Education Program contains an error that prohibits users from successfully completing the program. The program can be repaired very easy by running a downloadable file or "patch". Click here for more information.

Anyone born on or after January 1, 1969 must possess proof that they have successfully completed a hunter education class before hunting in Tennessee.

Note: New Apprentice Hunting Permit and How it Works with the Hunter Education Class Requirement.

Those under 10 years of age do not need a Hunter Education certificate, but must be accompanied by an adult at least 21 years of age, who must remain in a position to take immediate control of the hunting device.

All classes will have an additional "live fire" classroom day.

The hunter education class instructs students in Hunter Responsibility, Hunter Ethics, Hunting Tools, Shooting Fundamentals, Firearm Safety, Wildlife Management, Survival, and First Aid.
