WEST TENNESSEE WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREAS HAVE BEEN PLANTED

Most of the West Tennessee Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs) which plant crops for waterfowl have been planted in spite of the heavy rains that affected the Mississippi, Ohio and Tennessee River systems according to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA).

“Even though the severe flooding caused TVA to slow the releasing of water from Kentucky Lake and Barkley Lakes, we still managed to get corn planted this year,” stated Dan Fuqua, TWRA Region I Waterfowl Biologist. “Corn has been planted around all blinds that normally have corn planted in Camden, Big Sandy, West Sandy, Gin Creek and Barkley Unit I Wildlife Management Areas.
