DOVE FIELDS

(Varner Unit) - 10 acres in sown wheat and bushhogged corn.

(Rogers Unit) - 15 acres in sown wheat and bushhogged corn.

(Hixon Unit) - 15 acres in sown wheat and bushhogged Johnson grass.

(Vandergriff Unit) - 10 acres in sown wheat.

A WMA Small Game Permit is required for hunters 16 years old or older.  

Hunt Dates: September 1 and each Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday during the statewide dove season. Hunting is allowed only from noon to sunset only each hunting day. No dove hunters or dove hunting equipment on dove fields prior to 7:00 a.m. on opening day of the first segment of the dove season.

Directions: (Varner Unit) - From I-75 go north on Hwy. 153 and cross Chickamauga Dam. Go to the 2nd red light and turn right onto Hamill Road. Cross N. Chickamauga Creek and turn left on Cassandra Smith Road. Go approximately 5/8 mile and turn between the yellow/brown boundary stakes past an old dairy farm. Park in the gravel area at the end of the road.

Directions: (Rogers Unit) - From the Chickamauga Dam go west on Hwy. 153. Turn right onto Hixon Pike (Rd. 319); go 1.5 miles and turn left onto Middle Valley Rd. Go 0.4 miles and turn left onto Lower Mill Road. Go 0.2 miles to the Rogers Tract on the left at the sign.

Directions: (Hixon Unit) - From the Chickamauga Dam go west on Hwy. 153. Turn right onto Hixon Pike (Rd. 319). Go 1.5 miles and turn left onto Middle Valley Road. Go 0.4 miles and turn left onto Lower Mill Road. Go 0.2 miles to the Rogers Tract on the left. Go 0.4 miles past the Rogers Tract. Go over the bridge and turn right onto the Hixon Tract. Parking is provided only at the parking lot for the Rogers Unit. There is no parking or vehicle use on the Hixson Unit.

Directions: (Vandergriff Unit) - From I-75, go north on Hwy. 153 and cross Chickamauga Dam. Continue past the Super Walmart. At the first traffic light past Walmart, turn right on Grubb Road. Follow Grub Road until it bears ninety degrees right. Go straight through the curve and turn left on Mill Road. Go 300 yards on Mill Road, turn right onto a gravel drive in the curve. Cross the railroad tracks and turn right. Park behind the white block building.
